The French Institute Adds New Themes to Its Summer Camp Lineup

The French Institute/Alliance Française (FIAF) is adding new themes to its summer camp offerings this year.

This year the themes include Abracadabra with Harry Potter and Mary Poppins, Let’s go an adventure! With Tintin and Pippi Longstocking, Games Galore! With Petit Nicolas, and Discovering Paris! With Eloise and Madeline. The Big Apple Circus and the New York Football Club will also be on-hand to teach kids this summer.

Camps and classes are offered June 20 to Aug. 26 for children ages 1-17. Other programs include creative workshops and classes for kids 2-4, they are cooking, arts & crafts, music & songs, yoga & dance, and nature & science.

Also, in September, FIAF is adding an additional classroom to its preschool immersion program for kids 3-4 to accommodate more children, especially those who want to stay for the entire day. All of these programs are taught in French and the staff “is about promoting the French language and French culture to New Yorkers,” says youth program director Anne Bellec.  “No matter how you want your child to step into French, there’s a way to do it,” she added.
