The Sloomoo Slime Institute in Soho

The Sloomoo Institute in SoHo is finally reopening with new safety precautions and reduced capacity.

Soho is full of interactive, sometimes-gooey, always-fun spaces for kids to play. After you check out the Museum of Ice Cream flagship  take the kids over to the Sloomoo Institute at 475 Broadway for a day full of slime. The 8,000 square-foot facility entertainment center is an art exhibit and art class in one. Visitors will enter a black light cove filled with glow-in-the-dark slime, according to Time Out New York Kids, let an EEG machine show them their brains on slime, and so much more.

Upon reopening, the facility has reimplemented a variety of safety precautions to keep you and your family healthy including:

  • Masks
  • 25 percent capacity
  • Gloves for all team members
  • Hand washing station and alcohol-based hand wipes for use on entrance and throughout the space
  • Disinfection between guests
  • HVAC air system
  • Each visitor will get their own tub of slime rather than sharing a big vat with others

"We are all excited to bring the wonder and happiness of slime to the world in a large way,”Karen Robinovitz, one of the three co-founders of the installation alongside Sara Schiller and Toni Ko, told Time Out. “Our hope is that people of all ages will come to Sloomoo Institute and delight and evoke their inner child.”

Sloomoo will allow artistic kids to fuel their creativity while learning about STEM and having fun with slime–a substance kids can’t seem to get enough of. There are also plenty of other kids’ activities to take part in this fall, so your family can play the day away anytime.

Tickets to the slime party are $39 and include an 8-ounce custom slime and other accessories kids will love.

Sloomoo will be open Saturdays and Sundays, 10am-5pm. For ticket reservations, visit the website.
