MSQUASH Academy to Hold After-School Program in New, State-of-the-Art Sports Center

MSQUASH Academy to Hold After-School Program in New, State-of-the-Art Sports Center

Starting on September 12, MSQUASH Academy will be holding its first-ever after-school program for kids eager to learn the exhilarating sport of squash. Hosted in its brand new MSQUASH Accelerator sports center in Port Chester, the first portion of the program will run for three months until November 18. Sessions will be held from 3:30p to 4:30p on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Children new to the sport are invited to participate.

Founded in 1997 by renowned coach Shaun Moxham and his wife three-time Belgian national champion Katline Cauwels, MSquash Academy trains athletes from all over the globe who go on to compete and place in professional tournaments. In May, Moxham and Cauwels opened the MSQUASH Accelerator sports center, where sport meets technology. The center’s InteractiveSQUASH courts, designed by Moxham himself, are the first of their kind in the nation, and players can engage in games and drills via an interactive screen on the front wall of each court.

“Playing games distracts from the seriousness of sports and makes people want to come back,” Cauwels says. It’s the spirit of the MSquash experience: growing strong and happy people.

Kids in the MSQUASH Accelerator after-school program will learn the ropes by playing games in the InteractiveSQUASH courts. They will focus on mastering hand-eye coordination skills and nurturing a motivation and appreciation for squash. Goggles, a racquet, and a ball are provided each session, and children are advised to wear athletic clothing and non-marking close-toed shoes.

“We aim to bring in kids who are completely new to the sport in a way that no one else can do in the US,” says Cauwels.

To enroll their child in MSQUASH Accelerator’s after-school program, parents may visit MSquash.com or contact the center directly at [email protected] or 1-844-MSQUASH. The rate for the program is $550 for a total of 10 sessions. Discounts are available for members.

MSQUASH Accelerator is located in 24 Waterfront Place, Port Chester NY. For more information, visit the MSQUASH website or contact the facilities at 1-844-MSQUASH or [email protected].
