Disney's 'Frozen JR.' Will Make Its Debut at the White Plains Performing Arts Center

The White Plains Performing Arts Center will be the first Westchester youth theater program to work on Disney's 'Frozen JR.'

The White Plains Performing Arts Center will be working on a brand-new show, Disney’s Frozen JR. during the three-week session in July. These students will be the first in Westchester to work on Frozen JR. This session will run from June 27-July 19, conveniently starting a day after the White Plains public school year ends to provide coverage for parents. Students will learn performing arts skills while rehearsing the show and will perform on the WPPAC stage.

“We deliberately choose shows that have a large ensemble so that everyone involved can have stage time,” says Ariana Moses, director of education at The White Plains Performing Arts Center. “Everyone is needed to make the production whole.”

At the White Plains Performing Arts Center, students will learn to apply theater techniques to their performances while having fun and gaining confidence.

Each rehearsal day will run from 10am-4pm, with scheduled activities and classes throughout the day, including a warm-up, classes and rehearsals, and snack and lunchtime.

In August, shorter sessions for students in rising first through 10th grade will be offered. Students will have the opportunity to learn Disney’s The Lion King JR., Aladdin KIDS, and songs from the Disney Songbook. Each session has a director/choreographera music director, and college apprentices as assistants.

This is White Plains Performing Arts Center’s 15th year running the Summer Theatre Academy. Every session ends in a performance that is open to the public.
