h The Nature Place is an ACA accredited, non-competitive and nature-oriented day camp for children ages 4-16, located on 200 beautiful acres in Chestnut Ridge, NY. We have been nurturing children's connections to each other and to the natural world for over 25 years. Campers come to us (we bus!) from Manhattan, Rockland, Westchester and Bergen Counties. Arriving at The Nature Place campers discover a small camp (an average of 200 children), innovative, pressure-free programming and an exceptionally caring and well-trained staff. They do not find competitive sports, loudspeakers, TV or video games. Instead, campers get outside, explore, create, cooperate, play and wonder. Winter in Summer Week from thenatureplace on Vimeo.
SUMMER FUN – PROGRAMS & CLASSES – PRINT GUIDE
The Nature Place is an ACA-accredited, non-competitive, nature-oriented summer day camp for children ages 4-16, located on 200 acres in Chestnut Ridge, NY. Through experiential outdoor play and learning, and cooperative, rather than competitive, games, we encourage within each of our campers a sense of wonder towards the natural world. We offer a variety of activities through which we explore these values: gardening, cooking, swimming, earth art, games, hiking, music, drama, storytelling, farming, and more.
