Upcoming Open Houses: April 20, 1pm - 3pm & May 18, 1pm - 3pm EARLY ENROLLMENT DISCOUNT - Register by March 15th and have your $75 Application Fee Waived! Each summer begins with great potential. We encourage you to use that energy to inspire your child. The joy of igniting a flame that they may not even know existed can be satisfying and powerful for both you and your child. After hearing your feedback and thinking creatively, we are proud to present a program with specialized improvements that will make everyone’s experience a memorable one. This year, our youngest campers will explore flowers, magnets, sea life, and more. For your Adventurers, students will be encouraged to explore life as a stage, whether they are learning about theater, technology, film, or the world of sports. In the Discoveries and Adventures programs, learning comes alive. The Enrichment Program has grown by leaps and bounds. We have added over 50 new classes, including Stained Glass, Game Mechanics, Dwight Mic, and Greek Mythology Webquest. While the students who missed a chance last summer to take Programming for iStuff, Juggling, Science Medley, and others, can look forward to taking those classes. Upper School students can still try their hand in rebuilding an actual engine or they can train their brains to manage stress. Learning can be an addiction, especially when you build your own schedule. For our scholars, nothing says responsible more than taking control of one’s own education. At both the introductory and advancement levels, students are motivated to create their own path to graduation. This year, that can include Financial Learning.
The mission of the Dwight-Englewood Summer Connections program is to engage learners in the joy of discovery through a variety of experiences. These include:
*Enrichment in academics & explorations in the arts *Adventures in sports & healthy living *Leadership development & connections to the global world *Innovative approaches to teaching and learning *Integrated technology in classroom instruction One focus is the wide variety of classes offered at different levels to meet the needs of students, from the youngest of campers to our older student scholars. We offer a rich breadth of courses whether you are looking for an introduction, a chance to hone skills, or a brand new discipline. Alternative learning is also emphasized by using technology or different settings such as the Nature Sanctuary or a different country. Dwight-Englewood Summer Connections strives to offer a flexible environment that allows students to “design their discovery” based on individual needs and desires. We invite you to join us this Summer 2013. Explore new connections with teachers and students, concepts and subjects, within the community, to technology, to the global world, to the knowledge acquired during the academic year, but mostly, to your individual passions. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have at summerprograms@d-e.org or (201) 569-9500 ext. 3501. You are also welcome to drop by the office in Leggett Room 001 to discuss the options available to you. We look forward to seeing you this summer!
