Gan Israel Day Camp offers your child a rich and wonderful summer experience. Swimming, Baseball, Basketball, nature hikes, gymnastics, computers, as well as Jewish-themed programs are just a few of the many fun-filled activities our campers will enjoy. Gan Israel provides a non-judgmental environment which values diversity and acceptance. Our children come from a variety of Jewish backgrounds and experiences including children from public and private schools. In addition to offering all the fun of a summer camp, Gan Israel is unique in that it will leave your child with a deep sense of pride in his pr her Jewish heritage. It’s the place where your child will forge lasting friendships, explore new interests, and come home every day happy, singing a spirited camp tune guaranteed to make you smile. Our carefully selected, dedicated staff are warm, friendly, and above all are caring individuals who are sensitive to the particular needs of each child. We pride ourselves on the individual attention we give to each camper; as a “small” camp, no child is ever lost in the shuffle. Gan Israel is a modern camp with traditional ideas. Feel free to call us anytime at 845-634-0951. Our spacious 4 acre campus in New City features a variety of activity and sport centers for children of all ages. Large in-ground heated swimming pool Baseball, basketball, hockey soccer, tennis, volleyball and other athletic courts “Kid’s Heaven” - extensive Kiddie Kamp playground and play equipment Air-Conditioned Recreation Hall, Cafeteria, Gym, and Bunk Rooms. Swimming and Swimming instruction: Daily recreational swimming, water sports and swimming instruction in our on-site full-size outdoor heated pool is a favorite in the camp schedule. All aquatic activities are under constant careful supervision of trained, experienced and certified Red Cross Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors. Safety is our primary concern at all times. Athletics: Camp Gan Israel’s wide variety of sports activities include baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, tennis, volleyball and more. Through patient guidance and encouragement, the children develop sportsmanship, leadership, self-confidence, and the ability to enjoy all sports. Field Trips: Gan Israel “trip days” are once a week. Adventure-filled trips to fun and educational places include roller skating/blading, the zoo, bowling, amusement parks and other places of interest. Constant full supervision is provided at all times. Arts and Crafts: Under professional guidance of our Arts and Crafts director, every camper learns to use his/her imagination and creativity, regardless of any inherent skills. Candle making, paper Maché, stenciling and mosaics are some of the unique projects that make our arts and crafts program exiting to every camper. Gymnastics and Karate: After swimming these are by far the favorite activity specialty activities of Gan Israel campers. Taught by experienced professional instructors, campers learn various skills in both of these disciplines and have lots of fun while they’re at it. Dramatics: Comedy skits, auction days, talent shows and plays are but a few of the programs which challenge the child to display innate talents and provide for exciting entertainment for all. Kiddie Camp For 2 ½ - 5 year olds, Camp Gan Israel offers an exceptional pre-school program. Kiddie Kamp offers a wide variety of fun activities supervised by counselors with the special loving touch for the small ones. Emphasis is placed on both indoor and outdoor activities in a specially designed pre-school setting. Swimming and swimming instruction are an integral part of the Kiddie Kamp program. To enroll children must be fully potty trained.
