Free Covid-19 Tests are Available at Locations in Brooklyn and the Bronx

New Yorkers can get free tested for Covid-19 for free at The Alpha School in Brooklyn and Goble Playground in the Bronx for a limited time.

Brightpoint Health, a member of Hudson River Health Care, and UJA-Federation of New York is now offering free, pop-up COVID-19 testing for a limited time at various locations throughout Brooklyn and the Bronx beginning today.

Testing will be available at The Alpha School located at 2400 Linden Blvd. in Brooklyn on May 8, 11, 12, 13, and 13 and at Goble Playground between Inwood Avenue and Macomb's Road in the Bronx on May 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22. At both locations, testing is by appointment only and available from 10am-3pm.

“We know how important testing is - both to flatten the curve of those infected, and so that our state can begin to reopen,” Eric S. Goldstein, CEO of UJA-Federation of New York said in a press release.. “We’re proud to work with Brightpoint Health in supplementing the testing available in our community, doing all we can to support New Yorkers.”

Anyone who shows any symptoms of the coronavirus, including a persistent cough and temperature above 100.5 degrees and is not responsive to any fever medications should inquire about a test by calling 718-208-2802. Any health care workers, first responders, or other essential workers as defined by the Governor's Executive Order can call for a test as well.

Since March, UJA-Federation of New York has spent more than $44 million to help respond to the coronavirus pandemic. This includes supporting New Yorkers facing food insecurity, Jewish Community Centers, low-income students, and single parents and providing health and human services to New Yorkers, ensuring dignified burials, and joining the NYC Covid-19 Response and Impact Fund with other philanthropic organizations.
