A Drive-in Concert is Coming to Six Flags in October

Christian contemporary duo for KING & COUNTRY will headline the safe, family-friendly drive-in concert.

Labor Day doesn't have to mean the end of outdoor family fun. On Oct. 3, Six Flags Great Adventure will host a live, drive-in concert called “Together: A Live Drive-In Tour”— a perfect opportunity for a family adventure. The show will be headlined by Christian contemporary duo for KING & COUNTRY, a four-time Grammy Award-winning Australian duo who will perform some of their most popular songs, including number one single “God Only Knows,” while fans watch from their cars in the Six Flags parking lot. It’s an ideal show for the times: for KING & COUNTRY's family-friendly music is designed to be soothing and uplifting for kids and adults.

for KING & COUNTRY, comprised of brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone, have performed internationally on a 60-date arena tour, but after a Covid-related hiatus, they are thrilled to be able to play again live. "We’ve been working at finding a way to see you again in person safely,” Joel says. “It’ll be a good, old-fashioned evening unlike anything we’ve done before.”

The show will feature the duo’s massive hits like RUN WILD. LIVE FREE. LOVE STRONG., which debuted at number one on iTunes and was certified gold. In addition to winning two Grammys and four Dove Awards, the duo has garnered four number one hits, nine Top 10 hits, and had songs featured on the Emmys, Super Bowl, Sunday Night Football, and many other high-profile events.

Their third and most recent album called Burn the Ships explores themes of new beginnings, forgiveness, hope, and love. The title recalls a bold and brave 1500s Spanish explorer who didn’t consider retreat an option. “That is the big statement that this collection of songs is making,” says Luke. “We don’t want to live in the past; we want to move forward. There are things in everybody’s pasts that you have to get rid of.”

The album’s single, “joy,” which features a 100-person choir and a hypnotic wave of rhythm and electronic sounds, has been streamed more than 18 million times. “The lyrics cut through the cacophony of societal noise to remind us about what is important,” Joel says. For example: “Oh, hear my prayer tonight. ‘Cause this is do or die. The time has come to make a choice. I chose joy.”

Families will be able to share this healing music from the safety of their own cars, at the Oct. 3 drive-in concert—where all CDC safety protocols will be enforced. “It will be a night of music and stories, as well as playing together live,” says Joel. “So, load up the car, reserve your parking spot, and we’ll look forward to celebrating together soon.”

Gates will open at 5pm and the concert will begin at 7pm. Tickets start at $125 per car with four passengers. Additional passengers can be added for $25. A limited number of VIP Early Entry tickets will also be available. Tickets go on sale to the public on September 1 at PlatformTickets.com.
