Looking for a way to give back on Earth Day? Join a Community Cleanup in Congers, Nanuet, Nyack, Pearl River, Spring Valley, or Stony Point this April.

Community Cleanup in Rockland CountyThese kid-friendly volunteer events are sponsored by Keep Rockland Beautiful, a nonprofit partner of Keep America Beautiful that helps volunteers beautify their neighborhoods. All events are FREE to participate, though all encourage volunteers to register in advance to guarantee they have supplies available.

Below are the full details on Rockland County's April 2012 Community Cleanups, in date order:

 

April 14

NANUET COMMUNITY CLEANUP: Meet at the Stop and Shop Parking Lot (32 South Middletown Road, Nanuet) at 10am to register, pick up supplies, and get refreshments. Pre-registration is requested. Rain date is April 15.

STONY POINT COMMUNITY CLEANUP: Meet at the James A Farley Middle School (140 Route 210, Stony Point) at 9am to register, pick up supplies, and get refreshments. Pre-registration is requested. Rain date is April 21.


April 21

CONGERS COMMUNITY CLEANUP: Meet at the Congers Train Station (Lake Road & Burnside Avenue, Congers) at 9am to register, pick up supplies, and get refreshments. Pre-registration is requested.

SPRING VALLEY COMMUNITY CLEANUP: Meet at Memorial Park at 10am to register and pick up supplies. Pre-registration is requested.

 

April 22

NYACK COMMUNITY CLEANUP: Meet at the Nyack Center (58 Depew Avenue, Nyack) at 9:30am to register, pick up supplies, and get refreshments. Pre-registration is requested. Rain date is April 29.

 

April 28

PEARL RIVER COMMUNITY CLEANUP: Meet at the Pearl River town gazebo (Central Avenue at Franklin Avenue) at 10am to register and pick up supplies. Pre-registration is requested.
